Michael Todd Frosted Eye Shadow: Underground

Product
Underground is a great eyeshadow for a smokey eye look. The pigmentation is strong and it can be blended excellently for a smokey eye. If you want to use it for a more subtle look then a small amount can be applied for a more grey look. The texture is very smooth and soft. I apply this using an hard eyeshadow brush and then blend out using a soft eyeshadow brush, I feel that this works best to reduce any fallout.
Longevity
The longevity from this eyeshadow is great. I can wear it for up to ten hours without any creasing occurring. I will always wear a primer with this eyeshadow, however the swatch below doesn't have any primer underneath.

Packaging
This eyeshadow came in a nice purple cardboard box. The eyeshadow itself comes in a very hard plastic box with a removable grey insert that holds the eyeshadow. It can also be transferred into a palette.
Price
I purchased this from Love-makeup when they were having a sale on Michael Todd cosmetics. I paid £2.50 or €2.85 for this eyeshadow. They usually cost more.

Michael Todd Creme Eyeshadow: Flutter

Product
This is a champagne shade creme  eyeshadow which also contains gold shimmer. It's very creamy and also very easy to apply. I have used both an eyeshadow brush and also using an eyeshadow applicator. It think it depends on the look that you want to create to decide on which applicator works best for this eyeshadow. This blends very well but can sometimes loose pigmentation if it is overly blended. Otherwise the pigmentation is good. This is also a very good highlighter.

Longevity
I can usually wear this for approximately eight hours. Some creasing will occur if it is on the crease of my eye but that is usually easily resolved. If used as a highlighter on the brow bone then creasing is not a problem.

Packaging
This creme eyeshadow comes in a cardboard style purple box and there is a bubble wrap packaging securing the eyeshadow inside the box. The creme eyeshadow then comes in a clear round glass container with a black plastic removable lid.

Price
I purchased this from Love-makeup when they were having a sale on Michael Todd cosmetics. I paid £2.50 or €2.85 for this eyeshadow. They usually cost more.

Makeup Look: Nearly Purple

I have recently started back at college to do my masters so with nine o clock starts, my morning make-up has become a lot simpler. To create this look I used Natural Collection in Blackcurrant/Violet.
How I created this look:

1. I applied Urban Decay primer potion to prime my eyelids.
 2. Next, I applied the lighter of the two purple colours from my eyelid to slightly above the crease of my eyelid.
 3. Now I applied the darker purple to my eyelid and then blended both the colours on the crease.
4. Finally I applied NYX doll eye mascara to finish the look.
This is a very simple look and very useful for when you may be in a hurry.

Too Faced Candy Bars Eyeshadow Shimmer Bar: Black Licorice

Product
This is a glittery bar style eyeshadow created using four complimentary shades of purple/black colours. I really wanted to like this eyeshadow but is was not to be. I found that the eyeshadows were chalky and had very poor pigmentation. I have not used primer in the swatches below so you can see how poor the pigmentation is. I liked that the colours were complimentary and there for fool proof for creating looks but this could not make up for the other poor features of the eyeshadow. I applied this using an eyeshadow brush but the fallout was terrible so I wouldn't recommend this for applying the product.
Longevity
The longevity from this is not very good either. It creases very quickly and that is when an eyeshadow primer has been applied.
Packaging
This palette comes in an strong cardboard box with pink and black designs. The actual palette also has a similar design and comes in a hard plastic style container. The eyeshadow is in one container with the colours pressed together.

Price
I have this for a while so can't remember the price. I did however find it on Amazon for £6.25. I do know that I paid more for it.

Would I buy this again? No.

Sites of the Week: 23 September 2011

Yet anther hair post for the Beauty Department. This is a great one on a boho braid.

We all have some bad beauty habits, we may deny it but me know we do. Here are some things that  might help to fix those problems

I've mentioned how to dress like a Parisian before, this is how to dress like a Glitter girl.

Here are some very very unique nails. The first one is not exactly your everyday nails.

That nail art might be a bit too adventurous but these you can definitely do yourself.

If your new to layer eyeliner this is a good post. There is no picture provided on that post so this will give you an idea of what it should turn out to be.

It was also considered a treasured piece by women for the best of fashion. Now you can see how it developed through the ages.

A lot of the time we focus on unusual and different eye looks and the lips are left untouched. Here are some very different ideas for lips

Michael Todd Frosted Eye Shadow: Pleasure

Product
The first thing that I noticed about this eyeshadow was how much glitter and shimmer it contained. I had not expected it to be that shimmery when I saw it online as the  picture or description did not indicate this. There is good pigmentation from this eyeshadow and it is easy to blend. The texture is also very smooth and not chalky. I apply this using an eyeshadow brush and it works perfectly. This can be applied lightly for a day time look or if the intensity is increased then it can be worn as part of a night time look.

Longevity

An eyeshadow primer is needed with this eyeshadow, I have not used on in the swatch below. I can usually wear this for eight hours. If any creasing does occur it is easily solved using an eyeshadow brush.

Would I buy this again? No, not there was anything wrong with the eyeshadow I just don't think I will use this colour that much.

The Body Shop Shea Body Butter

Product
The Body Shop describes this body butter as 'an intensive, creamy all-over body moisturiser. It absorbs into the skin easily, helping to condition, soften and smooth the skin and prevent dryness, leaving out skin moisturised for up to 24 hours'. It really does do all of this. I usually apply this after I have showered and it almost melts on the skin. It is really soft and smooth and it does moisturise for 24 hours. With a lot of moisturisers you can't feel it hours after the moisturiser has been applied but with this moisturiser if can be felt   for the 24 hours. It is a white creamy colour so it blends perfectly into the skin.

Packaging
This moisturiser comes in a cream coloured circular container with a removable lid. There is 200ml 6.9oz or 196g of product in the container.

Price
I got this as a present but for blogging purposes I found out that it costs approximately €18. It  is available from The Body Shop.

Would I buy this again? Yes.

Catrice Multi Colour Compact Powder

Product
This is a Catrice Multi Colour compact powder. I have it in 010 Rose Brige. This is the lightest colour available. I do think that it has to used lightly or it will give you a darker complexion. I use a large powder brush to apply this and dust it over my face. This powder has good pigmentation. The texture is also very smooth and is easy to blend.

Longevity
The longevity from this powder is really good. It doesn't clog pores and also doesn't go cakey.
Packaging
The packaging on this box is very simple. It comes in a circular container with a clear plastic flippable lid. There is 8g or 0.28ounces of product in this container.

Price
These are available from Catrice stands and this cost me approximately €5.

Would I buy this again? Yes.

Glo Baby Glo nail polish: Yes Cyan

Product
I love this nail polish and it's goes excellently with Barry M black crackle nail polish. This is a creme type polish and it is also very smooth. I always apply two coats of this polish which is what I have applied in the pictures below.  The brush is also great as it covers the nails in three strokes.
Longevity
This polish will last four to five days without chipping. I do usually apply a base coat to prevent discolouration and I don't use a top coat with this polish.

Packaging
This nail polish comes in a very simple plastic box. The bottle is clear and has a black plastic top. There is 8ml of this product in this bottle.

Price
I bought this in Penny's/Primark and it cost me €2.50. This is great considering how good the polish is.

Would I buy this again? Yes.
