Barry M Intense Black Eyeliner Pen

Yet another eyeliner, this is something that I am always trying to find the best of.
Product
Barry M describes this mascara as 'a waterproof, long wear formulation in a retractable pack for easy use'. This eyeliner does apply easily and goes on smoothly. It doesn't smudge on the top eyelid, which can be both a good and bad thing. It's good if you want a clear line of eyeliner. However, if you want to blend it for a smoky look it is a little more difficult but not impossible.  I also find that holding this in my hand for a few seconds helps to heat the eyeliner and makes it easier to apply.

As this mascara comes in a retractable pen it makes it harder to get a thin black line. Even after trying it a few times I still had a lot of problems getting a very thin line because I couldn't sharpen it.  This has a very smooth and soft texture.
Longevity
I found this mascara to be waterproof on my top lid, however when applied to the waterline it didn't last very long and caused me to have black eyeliner under my eyes. Not a look that I particularly like.  This is a problem that I have with many eyeliners.  It was easily removed, after a days wear, using eye makeup remover.

Packaging
This mascara comes in a retractable eyeliner so a sharpener is not necessary. This is good and also bad. It's good in that you can use the eyeliner even if you forget to bring a sharpener and also if the top becomes very soft and breaks, which can happen with many eyeliners. This does, however, lead to the problem I outlined above in that it is more difficult to get a thin line.  Also as it is retractable it is important not to unscrew too much of the product or it will break off, which happened to me the first time I used it.
Price
I bought this on Amazon for £3.98.  The only place that I know in Ireland that Barry M is available in Ireland is in Boots or Superdrug.

Would I buy this again? No, I had purchased this as I wanted an eyeliner I could use on the waterline without it moving under my eyes.

Barry M Pink Shatter Nail Polish: How to apply

I recently reviewed the Barry M Black Shatter nail polish and decided that I would use the pink colour to explain the process of applying the shatter polish.
Firstly, I prepared my nails for applying nail polish. I used steps outlined in the this manicure post.

Secondly, I applied the colour I wanted. I choose Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer '270 It Blue My mind!'.
The third step was when I actually used the Barry M shatter polish. I stroked the brush on both sides of my nail and one light coat down the centre of my nail. I have to ensure that the coat was even and that it didn't overlap. This would have caused the polish to be too think to shrink as required to create the shattered look.

The Result:

As you can see the first finger shows the pink shatter is very prominent and visible. When I applied it to the second one I applied it lighter and as you can see it didn't shatter and crack to the same degree as the first one did. I would recommend that when you use this you experiment with the polish to see what works best for you.  The second picture shows the effect of the colour over a white base.

Barry M Black Shatter Nail Polish

I have been using this Barry M Shatter Nail Polish for about six months now and wanted to share my thoughts on it.
Product
Barry M Shatter Nail Polish is a nail polish that is very different from other polishes. Shatter nail polish is applied over other nail polishes to give a shattered, cracked appearance to nails. When I first used this I was very unsure as to what to expect because it applies like other polishes. I applies this over a pink polish and then it began to shrink to give the cracked appearance. I had no problem applying this, however I have friends that used it and they struggled with getting a thin layer of polish that doesn't overlap. If this shatter polish overlaps it will not shrink properly to give a nice cracked appearance.
Longevity
The longevity of this depends greatly on the type and longevity of the polish that it is applied over. I do find however that I will get approximately 3 days from this polish. It also doesn't chip like normal polishes but will start to fade away from the top of the nail.
Price
I purchased this about two months ago so therefore can't remember the exact price but I think it was approximately €6. I got it in Boots. It is also available in pink, I will review that one soon.
Would I buy this again? Yea. I actually bought my first bottle of this six months ago and then repurchased it again approximately two months ago.
