Makeup Look: Blue and Green

I decided to go for something a little more colourful for the next eye look. I was actually trying to achieve a different look when creating this but I liked when it turned out this way.
How I created this look:

1. I applied Revlon's Vital Radiance Smoothing Eye Primer to my eye lids.

2. Then I used the dark blue in 17 'Moody Blue' trio eyeshadow and applied it to my entire eyelid and slightly about the crease.

3. Now I used the second darkest green shade in 17 'midnight storm' trio eyeshadow and blended it with the dark blue.
4. Then I wanted to use a green with a frostier look so I used 17 solo eyeshadow in 'Green Glimmer'. I placed this in the inner corner and blended over the entire eyelid.

5. I then placed some of the lightest green from the 17 'Midnight storm' trio eyeshadow under my brow bone. I blended this down to the crease.
6. I was going to use black eyeliner but decided on something different and went with a gold gel eyeliner. I also decided to bring it all the way up to my eyebrow.
7. Once I had applied the eyeliner, I then used Benefit's Bad Gal mascara to make my lashes look full and lengthened.
A close-up of the eyeliner.

I couldn't fit all of the colours into this chart but it's explained in the post.

What do you think? Can you suggest any improvements that I can make to the look?

Benefit Bad Gal Mascara

Yet another really great mascara.
Product
Benefit Bad Gal mascara is an excellent mascara if you want both length and volume. I have used this for both daytime and night time looks and it works brilliantly for both looks. This mascara doesn't clump and even when I put on two layers for added volume, clumping is not a problem.
The brush is large which ensures that all of the lashes are covered. It also makes it easy for the brush to glide over the lashes.

Longevity
When I apply this it will usually last for approximately eight to ten hours.  It also doesn't flake around my eyes. The thing that I find difficult with this product is removing it. I will always need to use eye make-up remover and there are times when I will have to rub it for a minute or so to get it all off.
Packaging
There is 8.5g of product in this bottle. This mascara comes in a very nice cardboard style small box. When I removed it I saw the mascara was packaged in the black plastic tube with a silver lid.
Price
It has been about two months since I purchased this so I can't remember the exact price. I think it is approximately €22.  It is available from Benefit on-line and costs $19.00.  It is also available from the House of Fraser and costs £16.50.

Would I buy this again? Yes

Essence Maximum Definition Volume Mascara

Product
Essence claims that this mascara is an 'innovative and flexible synthetic brush' that 'reaches even the shortest lashes in the corner of you eye for perfect lengthening effects from base to tips'. I don't usually like this style of brush, however I actually like this one.  It makes it very easy to coat all of the lashes including the smaller ones on the inside on the eyelid.  So there claim about the brush is true.  The bristles on the brush really do separate the lashes.
The formula isn't waterproof and doesn't claim to be but it also doesn't come off onto my foundation or around my eyes. It is easily removed using a face cleanser or eye make-up remover.
I think its a combination of the brush and the mascara formula that create the longer looking lashes and do also give a certain amount of volume.

Longevity
I usually apply this in the morning and it will last me all day.  It doesn't flake off and leave black marks around my eyes.  Therefore, I could get anywhere from eight to twelve hours from this mascara.
Packaging
The packaging on this doesn't look very expensive.  In design it's very similar to other mascaras but I think the bright orange colour looks a little cheap. Although it does make it easier to find in your hand bag.
Price
I think this cost approximately €2.50. It is available at Essence stands.

Would I buy this again? Yes.

July Favourites

I know it's a few days into August so I apologise for being a little bit late with my July Favourites.

1. I'll start with what I have definitely been using the most. It also made an appearance for the June favourites.  It's Urban Decay's Naked palette.  I still use this nearly everyday and also night for creating different looks.

2. I have also been using Urban Decay's Supercurl mascara a lot this month since I received it for my birthday. It  really finishes off an eye look and is great for day and night time.

3. With regards to foundation I have been using Max Factor Lasting Performance. It gives me great coverage and also gives a flawless look.

4. For priming my eyes before eyeshadow I have been using Revlon Vital Radiance. It gives great longevity to any eyeshadow that I apply and also prevents any creasing.
5. For my lips I have been using a Benefit lipstick in LaLa Land. I will be reviewing a few of Benefits lipsticks soon.

6.  I have been using a variety of different blushers and bronzers over the past month. I have been trying to use different ones instead of using my Benefit Coralista and also testing some other's for review purposes.
7. For my nails I have been using, again, Penny's Cornflower and also Tesco's Barbara Daly Goodbye Yellow.

8. For my brushes I have been using mainly MAC 187 for foundation and No7 concealer brush and also Elf stippling brush for applying my high definition powder. I have used some other brushes too but these have been the ones I have used most.

Urban Decay Supercurl Mascara

Supercurl mascara was a part of the Urban Decay Urban Bride set that I posted about recently.
Product
This mascara is described as having a formula that will give 'perfectly sculpted lashes get boost, seperation and tons of pretty curl'.  It also claims that the formula 'boosts curl, separates lashes, and literally crafts each one into an expertly shaped, battable set'.  I only have the travel size version of this since it was in the set.

This is a very easy mascara to apply. The curvy brush gives extra curl while easing the application.  It is also easy to apply to lower lashes as the curve moves with the lashes.  The mascara itself is also very smooth.

The colour is also very black which I like.

Longevity
This mascara lasts for so long. I can apply this in the morning and it will last even if I am going out that night. I consider this to be a very good lasting time. Even though it lasts all day and doesn't flake it is also very easy to remove, I use the facial scrub that I usually use.

Packaging
The mascara that I have is 5.4ml or 0.18 fluid ounces, however the full sized bottle is 9ml or 0.3 fluid ounces. I really like the design on the bottle.
Price
As I received this as a present and it is a travel size I don't know the price of this bottle. However, the full sized bottle costs $20.00 and is available as Urban Decay. It is also available from the House of Fraser and costs £15.00

Would I buy this again? Yes.

Essence Stays on and on and on Mascara

Product
On the Essence site, this mascara is described as a mascara 'for even longer-lasting, beautiful lashes, this mascara makes good on its promises. the innovative formula is not only long-lasting but it’s smudge and smear proof too. you’ll enjoy taking it off just as much as you do wearing it—with a little warm water, the mascara washes away. thanks to the sophisticated brush, each lash gets just the right amount of mascara and is perfectly separated for a breathtaking look!'.

This is a very smooth mascara and it also doesn't clump. The brush on this mascara is also good as it has thick bristles while not being too big for day time use. The bristles separate the lashes and allow you to spread them out.  This is also very easy to apply because of the size of the brush.
Longevity
I love this mascara for day time use because it lasts all day long and there is also very little flaking even when in hot conditions.  I also find that this is easy to remove, unlike some other lasting mascaras. I use my usual face wash to remove this mascara.

Packaging
As you can see from the pictures, this mascara comes in a shiny blue bottle. It also has the brush applicator for applying the mascara.  There is 8ml or 0.27fluid ounces in the bottle.
VQETFS6HA2CJ
Price
I think that this cost approximately €3.50, which I think is great for a mascara that lasts all day.

Would I buy this product again? Yes. I have purchased this product twice already and will again.

NYX Doll Eye mascara in Black Long Lash

I had never used an NYX mascara before this one and I must say that I am surprised by how much I like it.
Product
NYX Doll Eye mascara in Long Lash claims to be 'the best alternative to fake lashes'. While it does give a longer appearance to eyelashes, I do not think that it looks as dramatic as fake lashes.  It gives lashes a soft feel once the mascara has been applied unlike some mascara that can make eyelashes feel think and almost crunchy.  I also like this mascara as it is enriched with Vitamin E, is hypo allergenic and is also claims to be safe for contact lenses.

I wear contact lenses and this can mean I touch my eyes and this doesn't smudge or irritate my eyes.

Longevity
There is good longevity with this mascara.  This is not waterproof but still remains on the eyelashes while there is a light amount of rain, as I discovered.

Packaging
When I received this it was packaged in a really nicely designed box, as pictured above.  The mascara bottle itself is a black plastic tube. The bottle is long with an oblong shape. This bottle contains 8g or 0.28oz.

Price
I purchased this on Amazon for £7.80. I don't know of anywhere that this is available in Ireland as NYX is not widely available here, unfortunately.

Would I buy this again? Yes
